Blame it on Luck

It was very amusing to read Rahul Dravid’s comments about his loss (yet another) to Team Jaipur. He is always known for his guarded, diplomatic replies but under these circumstances, they sound pathetic and a few of us have lost patience. After a dismal start and continued bad performances, the least that the fans expected was a committed performance against a very strong Jaipur side, immaterial of the results. But, the efforts of the Bangalore team have gone from bad to worse (just take a look at the match highlights if you don’t believe me)

“…nothing has been working out despite having very good players in our ranks…”

Mr. Dravid, we understand you defending your team (you have no choice) but please credit us with some intelligence. Things work out only if you put in the effort….

“…we have been putting our best effort but I feel the intensity was not there…”

Really? best effort…? intensity not there…? How can any effort be the best without the desire to succeed? Your team’s performance against Jaipur was a shocking display of bad bowling, horrible fielding and inept batting.

“…we also experimented a bit today. We sent big hitters up the order but could not fire because they (Rajasthan Royals) bowled in the right areas…”

Did you count on the Jaipur bowlers to bowl in the “wrong” areas when you planned your experiment?

"…we also had some limitations with (Dale) Steyn and few others being injured…”

Yeah Right…like the team was winning when these players were around…

Just reading all these comments may lead a few of us to believe that there is devil inspired conspiracy to keep the Bangalore team from not performing. Who knows, it may win a few of its remaining matches (only if God decides to intervene), maybe all the remaining matches (I am counting on God’s ability and not the team’s…DON’T LAUGH AT ME…!) but there is no denying the truth…that this team is not cut out for this type of cricket.
